About myTMB
myTMB started from a simple need: planning a Tour du Mont Blanc with friends without paying a subscription to split the stages or download a GPX. So everything is free, with no account, and the plan fits in a link.
Where the data comes from
- OpenStreetMap: the TMB route, the variants, the 142 places to sleep, the passes, water points and shops. Data © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the ODbL licence.
- EU-DEM 25 m: the elevations, which give the ascent figures and the profile.
- BRouter: routing for some variants missing from OpenStreetMap.
- OpenTopoMap: the topographic base map (CC-BY-SA).
Data last updated: 11 October 2026.
How stages are computed
Walking time follows the DIN 33466 method (4 km/h on the flat, 300 m/h uphill, 500 m/h downhill), adjusted to the chosen pace. The split looks, among all places where you can sleep, for the combination that makes the days as even as possible. You can then move each stage end by hand.
What myTMB does not do
myTMB sells nothing and takes no bookings. Prices and opening dates are indicative: always check with the place itself. Safety information does not replace your own judgement or the advice of mountain professionals.
