The walk
First comes a descent to Arnouvaz at the head of the Italian Val Ferret, then a climb past Rifugio Elena to Grand Col Ferret, the highest point of the main route. Beyond lies Switzerland: the Swiss Val Ferret, its pastures and wooden chalets.
The descent goes through the La Peule pasture and Ferret, then follows the Drance to La Fouly, a small village below Mont Dolent and the A Neuve.
